Her Message to
Her Family
If I could leave you with one last message…
Papa, at sa mga anak ko- Joefel, Joan, Jessel, Jonna, at Bunso Mima- at sa aking mga apo, TJ, Mielle, Taran, at Brent, please don’t let your hearts be filled only with sadness when you think of me.Remember our laughter, our stories, our little moments, and all the memories we made together. Take care of one another, stay close, and always make room for love and family. Marami pa kayong mararanasan, matututuhan, at ipagdiriwang. Whenever you miss me, remember that the love I gave you did not leave when I did. It lives within each one of you, in the kindness you show, the care you give, and the love you share.Smile when you remember me. Say my name, tell my stories, and laugh at our happy memories. Keep making new ones, too. You still have so much life to live, and nothing would make me happier than knowing you are living it with love.Mahal na mahal ko kayong lahat. I loved you in this life, and I will love you for eternity.Until we meet again. 🤍-Mama

The Little Things That Made Mama, Mama
Her laughter, her quirks, her passions, and the memories that will always remind us of her.Mama was a woman full of life, warmth, and personality. She loved good company, meaningful conversations, music, celebrations, and the simple pleasures of everyday life. She had a radiant smile, a playful sense of humour, a sentimental heart, and, of course, a little taray that those closest to her knew all too well! These are the little things that made Mama wonderfully, unmistakably herself. Her Famous Chicken AsadoMama’s signature Chicken Asado was a family favourite, and nobody could quite make it the way she did. Believe us, we’ve tried, but somehow, we still haven’t managed to capture that familiar taste! :)Perhaps her secret ingredient was simply Mama’s special touch. The Life of the PartyGive Mama a microphone, and she was in her element! She loved singing, hosting celebrations, and being the emcee. She had a natural flair for entertaining and knew how to keep a gathering lively. But music was more than entertainment to Mama. She had a song for almost every chapter of her life, each one connected to a special person, place, or memory.Disney Girl brought her back to her high school days, while I Honestly Love You was the theme song she shared with Papa. And as she said goodbye, she chose Something in Your Eyes as a dedication to her children, leaving them one last song to remember her by.For Mama, songs were never just melodies. They were memories, emotions, and stories that stayed with her through the years.AFriend Wherever Life Took HerMama had a special gift for friendship. She maintained friendships from childhood and school while continuing to make new ones wherever life took her.Whether she moved somewhere new or joined another group, she somehow always found herself another BFF!She also treasured time with her youngest siblings and niece. Their sleepovers became a lovely tradition, filled with food, endless kwentuhan, laughter, and conversations stretching late into the night. For Mama, being together was already an occasion worth celebrating. Her Green Thumb and Little TreasuresMama had a remarkable green thumb. Almost anything she planted or cared for seemed to flourish. She loved gardening so much that she even did her own landscaping, carefully arranging her plants and creating beautiful spaces around her home. Her garden was her pride and joy, a reflection of her patience, creativity, and natural ability to make things grow. She also loved collecting little souvenirs, especially seashells from the beach. Her favourite colours were golden yellow and earthy green, fitting for someone who found so much happiness in nature. Our Selfie QueenMama loved dressing up, taking selfies, going out, and enjoying her social life. She never needed a special occasion to capture a moment. Sometimes, simply feeling happy or enjoying the day was reason enough. And what a smile she had! The kind that could brighten an entire room.Looking through her photographs today, we’re especially grateful she took so many. Each one has become a precious reminder of her beautiful face and cheerful spirit.A Wife Through the YearsMama and Papa shared a lifetime together, building a family and creating memories through the many seasons of their marriage.Like any couple, they had their differences, and Papa probably experienced more of Mama’s famous taray than anyone else! After all, who else could bring out her inner Annabelle Rama quite like him? :)But even with their occasional disagreements, Mama was always thoughtful when it came to Papa. She knew his favourites, his routines, and the little things that made him happy. Although, knowing Mama, she probably remembered what he disliked even better!Their journey together wasn’t without challenges, but Mama remained committed to the marriage and family they had built.Through the years, Papa was always part of her thoughts, her concerns, and her everyday life. Our Very Own Maldita QueenOf course, no story about Mama would be complete without mentioning her famous taray! We lovingly called her our Maldita Queen, our very own Annabelle Rama! She could be outspoken, feisty, dramatic, and quite firm when she had something to say. Even her own children weren’t spared from her sermons and occasional scoldings! But behind that strong personality was a mother who cared deeply for her children. She worried about them, guided them, and stood by them through difficult times. There were disagreements, misunderstandings, and moments when her patience was tested. Yet, through it all, she never gave up on her children. Her love was constant, even on the days when her patience wasn’t.Sometimes her love came through gentle words, sometimes through advice, and sometimes through a good old-fashioned sermon! That was Mama, a little matapang, a little maldita, but always devoted to her children.A Heart That Felt DeeplyMama was someone people naturally turned to when they needed to talk. She listened to their worries, frustrations, and heartaches, often becoming so emotionally involved that she carried their concerns in her own heart. She was also perceptive. She could sense the atmosphere in a room, notice changes in people’s behaviour, and recognise when something wasn’t quite right.Although she was outspoken by nature, she didn’t always confront those who hurt her. Sometimes, even when she knew someone had spoken unkindly about her, she chose to keep her feelings to herself.Behind her cheerful smile and confident personality was a sensitive side that not everyone had the opportunity to see.The Everyday Moments We MissWhen we think of Mama, it isn’t only the big occasions that come to mind. It’s her Chicken Asado, her singing, her endless selfies, her beautiful garden, the seashells she collected, and the gatherings she loved organising. It’s the sound of her laughter, her familiar voice, her funny remarks, and even those moments when her famous taray made an appearance. We miss the ordinary days, the conversations, the little routines, and simply knowing she was there.Mama wasn’t perfect, nor would we want to remember her as someone she wasn’t. She had her strengths, her sensitivities, her moods, and her own unique way of loving those around her.And that is exactly how we want to remember her.Not just as a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, or a friend, but as Evelyn, the woman whose presence brought so much colour into our lives. If we could have just one more moment, we would gladly listen to another sermon, pose for another selfie, hear her sing one more song, or sit around the table enjoying her Chicken Asado.Just to hear her voice again.Just to see that beautiful smile.Just to have Mama with us, even for a little while.Forever our Mama. Our Selfie Queen. Our Maldita Queen. Our one and only Evelyn.Every little thing about you is now a beautiful memory we will carry for the rest of our lives.Loved beyond words. Remembered in countless little ways. 🌻
